What is CAPCE-accredited EMS continuing education?
CAPCE (the Commission on Accreditation for Pre-Hospital Continuing Education) is the gold standard for EMS continuing education accreditation in the United States. CAPCE-accredited EMS CE courses are accepted by the National Registry of EMTs (NREMT) for recertification and by virtually every state EMS regulatory agency for state-level recertification. CE Solutions has been a CAPCE-accredited EMS continuing education provider since 1997.
How many CEUs do I need for EMS recertification?
CEU requirements vary based on your certification level and recertification path. For NREMT recertification under the National Continued Competency Program (NCCP), EMRs need 16 hours, EMTs need 40 hours, AEMTs need 50 hours, and Paramedics need 60 hours per cycle. State-only recertification paths often require additional hours and may include state-specific topics like jurisprudence or protocol updates. Check your state's specific EMS recertification requirements for exact CE hour counts.
Can I complete my EMS CE online?
Yes. Most states accept online EMS continuing education for the majority of recertification hours through CAPCE-accredited providers like CE Solutions.
